5 months

Addie turned 5 months on Saturday!!

-Addie's sleep habits are finally starting to get a little bit better! Her naps have improved a lot! She now takes 2-3 naps a day and they're usually at least an hour long, and most of the time they're closer to 2 hours! Woohoo! We're still working on night sleep. Pretty much every night she's up at 11, around 2 or 3, and around 5 or 6 :( It's killing me. As someone who has a very hard time functioning on little sleep, I have a huge testimony of the fact that God strengthens us so that we're capable of handling it when we have newborns... now Addie's getting old enough where my body is telling me I need more sleep. I'm struggling! So, we're now training her to put herself back to sleep for the middle of the night feeding. I think she's waking up at that time more out habit now than anything else anyway. After a few days of training, she's finally starting to sleep through that feeding! Hopefully the trend continues!
We also moved Addie to her own room this month!

-Addie is still as happy as ever! She still loves all people and wants attention. She does a pretty good job of staying happy and entertaining herself if I put her down on the playmat or in a bouncer or swing, but if she can tell she's being left out of something she starts to get whiny. We had to bring out Emily's old high chair this month because Addie would get upset when she heard us all sitting at the dinner table without her :)

-She's gotten to where she loves grabbing people's faces. Emily thinks it's hilarious and is always trying to get Addie to touch her! They are best friends and Emily is dying for Addie to be bigger so they can play together!

-Addie can now sit up for a good amount of time on her own. She's not strong enough that I would ever be able to leave her, but if she's in the right position, I can let go for quite awhile before she starts to tip. She's also so close to turning from her back to tummy. She'll get herself all the way over except for the last shoulder. She likes hanging out on her side once she's there :)

-She likes feeling like she's big and can do things that Emily's doing. I took them to the park and put them in side by side swings and Addie kept looking over at Emily and cracking up. She was also pretty giddy when we first put her in the high chair next to Emily at the table. It's fun for her that she doesn't always have to hang out in the car seat or on the floor now :)

I didn't get a picture when Addie was excited to be swinging :( At this point, she was so relaxed that she almost fell asleep!

Where would we be without this beautiful angel girl?

she has the most kissable cheeks!!
