11 months

-Addie started a thing this month where she randomly lays her head down while she's playing. She'll be playing or crawling around and out of nowhere, just lay down for a few seconds. She usually has a big smile on her face while she's doing it. She does it many times throughout the day and it's my favorite thing!

-she's entered the phase where she's obsessed with putting things in other things. She's become a great helper during clean up time because she loves putting every single toy in the basket ;)

-She loves pushing things around the house. She's always rearranging the furniture in our kitchen since she's able to move the chairs by herself ;) She also loves going on rides on anything, whether it be a toy car, my parents' golf cart, Grant's bike, or someone's shoulders.

-Addie took her first unassisted steps last week! I can't believe it's happening already. She wants so badly to be able to walk all the time. She'll be crawling really fast behind Emily and then stop and put one knee up, wanting to be able to stand up and run after her.  She can't stand up yet without holding onto something and that's frustrating to her.

trying hard to stand up

blurry, but the only picture I have of her taking a step

I posted a video the other day of her taking some steps, but here's one of her going to her daddy :)

-It's hard to believe that the next time I do an update post she will be 1! Where has the time gone?

our friends brought over some cookies and I forgot I left them on the stairs... we almost made it a full year with no sweets ;)

Emily came and told me that Addie was stuck... Addie didn't cry until she saw me!

she's such a beauty!!

halloween week

Last week was so much fun, but busy busy busy!!

We started the week off with our church trunk-or-treat on Tuesday night. Emily and Addie dressed as Little Bo Peep and a sheep, and Grant and I went as Jack and Jill to stick with the nursery rhyme theme. We had so much fun! Emily did a great job overcoming her shyness to tell everyone "trick-or-treat" and Addie loved passing out candy!

I was lucky enough to teach preschool this week so we got to do a lot of fun halloween-themed activities (and I forgot to take pictures of most of them!) We do 2 days a week, so they came dressed up on the 2nd day. So fun!

caramel apples!

halloween sugar cookies :)

halloween bingo!

While the week was filled with fun, it also had some heartache, as some of our very best friends moved away :( The Hawkins moved into the same neighborhood and ward as us within the same month that we did. We've been close since then and our kids are best friends! We're going to miss them so much and I'm especially going to miss our morning walks, where Kendra and I would solve the world's problems together ;) They stayed with my parents while they were between homes, so I hung out there for a lot of the week so we could enjoy the last few days before they left. The day before they moved, we checked off the last thing on Kendra's Houston bucket list by going to get gelato at a place with really cool graffiti on the side :) It still hasn't sunk in to Emily that Erick is gone for good, but I can't let myself think about it too much :( We miss you!!

lady made herself at home at my parents' house ;)

we told them to say goodbye and they kept chasing each other saying "hugs!"

On Halloween day, we finally carved and painted our pumpkins! Emily decided on one of her other dress-ups for trick-or-treating and went as Doc McStuffins. She had so much fun and I was amazed at how brave she was going up to everyone by herself to get candy! She was wiped out by the end and fell asleep before we got home!

Hope everyone had a happy Halloween! This year is going by so fast!!
