10 months

Our Addie girl is growing up so fast! On Friday she turned 10 months!!

-Addie loves almost any table food you put in front of her. She's a great eater. But she's pretty much decided that she's done with baby foods. She just wants the good stuff ;)

-We gave her a cuddle blankie this month. I noticed that she started grabbing onto my shirt and stroking her face with it when she was tired or nursing, so I thought she was ready for one. I started giving her Emily's blankie during naps and she loved it, so we got her one of her own :)

-Addie cut 5 new teeth this month! She now has 4 on the top and 3 (and a half) on the bottom. Poor girl has not really enjoyed the teething process :( She got a little bit sick and was a little crankier than normal, but she's still an overall very happy baby :) And she looks so adorable with all those little teeth!

-This girl is growing up more and more every day! She cruises along furniture and can walk around with the push toys. If she's holding onto something and wants to get to something else, I can see the wheels turning in her mind as she's deciding the best way to get there. Her favorite game is to have someone sit on the floor with her and she'll pull up on the couch, let go and stand for a few seconds, and then fall into the person's arms. She'll do it over and over again! She loves practicing her standing skills. She's also started doing a thing where she puts her head on the ground and sticks her bum up in the air for a few seconds. She does it all the time! I think she's trying to figure out how to get to a standing position by herself! Time is going way too fast!

^this is the move that she's started doing all.the.time!

-Addie has started saying "mama!" She will usually say it when I go to get her out of her bed or if she hears my voice when I enter a room. I love it! She also occasionally says "more" (more like "muh") when she wants more food. She loves her family! She loves when daddy gets home (on the nights that he's actually home before she's in bed!) and has so much fun with him. With the weather being a little nicer, Grant has started taking the girls on bike rides and they have so much fun! Emily and Addie are bonding more and more everyday! They have so much fun together and really enjoy each other. It's such a sweet and loving bond and it's so fun for me to watch!

I walked in one day and found them like this. Addie was so content to lay in Emily's lap and they stayed that way for several minutes!

-we think she's pretty amazing!

blowing raspberries all day long!

she scours the floor all day for the tiniest little crumbs to pick up and eat. This was a score when she found a magazine to tear up (and attempt to eat)!

there is nothing better than this puffy face when I get her up in the morning!

outtakes:

right after this picture, she ripped her sticker in half and the photoshoot was over :(

fall fun

oh. my. goodness!! I have SO much to catch up on!! When I plugged my phone in today to upload my photos onto the computer I couldn't believe how many I had! As you'll see by this blog post we've been busy busy busy lately! I LOVE the fall! There are always so many fun things going on, great food to eat, and the weather is the best... kind of.  It's taking a while for that fall weather to hit Houston, but hopefully it won't be too much longer and it will really start to feel like fall soon!

So here's some of what we've been up to...

After Emily's birthday, my grandpa and uncle came in town. They were only here for a few days, but that was enough time for the girls to warm up to them :) Emily is still talking about when they came to visit. We loved it!

Our neighborhood put on a fun fall festival.  A lot of it was geared more toward older kids, but Emily really enjoyed the petting zoo and getting a tour of the fire truck! And we found some friends when we got there so that made it even better! Emily played so hard that she fell asleep in the stroller on the way home!

she was so excited to get in the truck, but was not okay with me moving away to take the picture!

We did a farm unit in preschool one week, so some of us decided to take our kids to a real farm. They had a blast! They were giddy every time we saw a new animal! And Emily had her very first pony ride!! I honestly can't believe that she actually did it! I asked her if she wanted to and she excitedly agreed. In line I kept expecting her to back out, but when we got up there, she just got right on! Her face looked like she was going to bust out crying any second, but whenever I asked her if she was having fun she would say, "yes!" Silly girl :) We also went on a little train ride, where she had a similar reaction :)

you can't really tell in the picture, but the goat has his front feet up on the gate

this was her face on the train... identical to how it was on the pony ;)

yes, her face is filthy... their favorite thing at the farm was playing in the dirt

they were both tuckered out after the farm!

One day, the carousel at our mall was having free rides, sponsored by chick-fil-a. I wasn't going to go because every time we go to the mall I ask Emily if she wants to ride the carousel and she freaks out. But, Fleming was taking the boys, so we decided to go and watch them ride if nothing else ;) Sure enough, Emily refused to ride. But after we sat and watched it go a few times she decided to try it out. She would only do "the flat one," though (meaning the bench that doesn't go up and down). Hey, it's a start. She loved it, so I'm sure we'll get her on one of the animals eventually ;)

We went with some friends to the zoo for their zoo boo! They each got to pick a pumpkin and decorate it. We had a great time!

And last, but not least, we visited the pumpkin patch yesterday. With the farm, the zoo, and now the pumpkin patch, we have so many little pumpkins. We need to decide how we want to decorate them soon :)

We sure are loving this season and there's so much more fun to come! What a wonderful time of year!!
