So here's some of what we've been up to...
After Emily's birthday, my grandpa and uncle came in town. They were only here for a few days, but that was enough time for the girls to warm up to them :) Emily is still talking about when they came to visit. We loved it!
Our neighborhood put on a fun fall festival. A lot of it was geared more toward older kids, but Emily really enjoyed the petting zoo and getting a tour of the fire truck! And we found some friends when we got there so that made it even better! Emily played so hard that she fell asleep in the stroller on the way home!
she was so excited to get in the truck, but was not okay with me moving away to take the picture!
We did a farm unit in preschool one week, so some of us decided to take our kids to a real farm. They had a blast! They were giddy every time we saw a new animal! And Emily had her very first pony ride!! I honestly can't believe that she actually did it! I asked her if she wanted to and she excitedly agreed. In line I kept expecting her to back out, but when we got up there, she just got right on! Her face looked like she was going to bust out crying any second, but whenever I asked her if she was having fun she would say, "yes!" Silly girl :) We also went on a little train ride, where she had a similar reaction :)
you can't really tell in the picture, but the goat has his front feet up on the gate
this was her face on the train... identical to how it was on the pony ;)
yes, her face is filthy... their favorite thing at the farm was playing in the dirt
they were both tuckered out after the farm!
One day, the carousel at our mall was having free rides, sponsored by chick-fil-a. I wasn't going to go because every time we go to the mall I ask Emily if she wants to ride the carousel and she freaks out. But, Fleming was taking the boys, so we decided to go and watch them ride if nothing else ;) Sure enough, Emily refused to ride. But after we sat and watched it go a few times she decided to try it out. She would only do "the flat one," though (meaning the bench that doesn't go up and down). Hey, it's a start. She loved it, so I'm sure we'll get her on one of the animals eventually ;)
We went with some friends to the zoo for their zoo boo! They each got to pick a pumpkin and decorate it. We had a great time!
And last, but not least, we visited the pumpkin patch yesterday. With the farm, the zoo, and now the pumpkin patch, we have so many little pumpkins. We need to decide how we want to decorate them soon :)
We sure are loving this season and there's so much more fun to come! What a wonderful time of year!!
