2 months

Our Addie girl turned two months old yesterday! So hard to believe it's already been two months, but at the same time it feels like she's always been a part of our family. We took her to the dr today and got her official stats :)

-As you can see she's still a chunker! Some of our nicknames for her include chunky monkey, roly poly, and moose :) While her rolls are pretty delicious, I am a little bit sad at how big she got so fast! Where did my little newborn go? Why does time always have to move so quickly?!

-We're so grateful for Addie and her easy-going personality. It has made the transition from 1 to 2 kids pretty breezy (but her sister and the terrible twos have helped balance it out a bit!). She really is a great baby! She loves all people and is mostly happy all the time. The one exception takes place in the evenings. Most evenings we have our "witching hour" where she will get cranky for a while and it's pretty difficult to console her. Of course, it always happens when I'm cooking dinner and sometimes it's extra fun because Emily decides to join in. And occasionally she has rough days if we're trying to do too many things and it keeps her from having uninterrupted naps. But I'll take those times of fussiness because of how easy she makes my life the rest of the time. I'm seriously so grateful for her sweet temperament!
she's still so snuggly

Addie got to meet her great grandpa, Papa Joe, this month

-Speaking of being sweet, she LOVES to smile! There is nothing better than the first few months of baby smiles. I love how she smiles with her whole face and you can see just how happy and sweet she is. She's also gurgling a lot and it seems like she wants to laugh :)

-Addie's usually not a big fan of tummy time and has started rolling over already! It doesn't happen every time, but it's already happened on 7 or 8 different occasions and several times in a row on each occasion, so I feel like that's enough to count it as an accomplishment :) She'll usually either roll over pretty soon after being placed on her tummy, or she'll just lay there and do nothing.
-She still eats about every 3 hours. Just recently, she's started having one stretch at night that's a little longer (4-5 hours). The longest she's gone is 6 hours, but that only happened once. She's really good about going right back to sleep after eating, so I don't  have to be up for too long with her, which is nice. After her last night feeding, she still wants to be in bed with us for the last hour or two before Emily gets up.

-I feel like we slacked a little with introducing the bottle to her :( We gave her the first bottle at 4 1/2 weeks and she took it really well. But then we weren't great about giving her one every few days so now she doesn't want to take it. We can still get her to eat, but it takes a while for her to finally accept it and then she'll only suck for a few seconds at a time before spitting it out. Hopefully she can get a little better so maybe Grant and I will be able to leave her with a babysitter someday!
-Addie loves her big sister! Emily has gotten to where she really adores Addie, but she loves a little too hard sometimes. Addie's a trooper, though, and takes it like a champ! Whenever she sees or hears Emily she gets a big smile on her face. She also loves to see her mommy and listen to daddy's voice :)

Emily's tickling her :)

outtakes:

Emily wanted to join in

goodness gracious, she's so roly!

sorry Addie!

closest she would give us to a smile
