Fall 2017

This may be the longest blog post I've ever put together! I have so much to catch up on, and didn't want to break it up into a bunch of posts, so here's one big photo dump from last September-December.

Once preschool was underway, Emily started gymnastics. It is her favorite thing! She lives for Mondays!

After Hurricane Harvey hit, it was amazing to see people come together to help those affected. We had shortened church schedules for many weeks so people could go out and help. My parents hosted people from all over the country who came to camp out at night and help people during the day. We met some wonderful people!

For Emily's birthday we had our traditional pedicures and she opted for IHOP for dinner. Then we came back home for presents and cake and ice cream with extended family.

^prepping for her princess photoshoot ;)

Thank you Aunt Fleming for giving her makeup for her birthday!

Somehow we made it 5 years into parenting before a kid cut their own hair! I'm not surprised it was Addie!

A beautiful day with Nana!

Grant and my brothers joined my dad's firm on their dragon boat team this year. There were lots of competitive games, including the famous dragon boat races. The girls had lots of fun cheering them on!

We had a fun saturday that included a project at home depot and the my little pony movie at the theater

Emily got to have a part in the primary program again this year and was even able to sing in a small group number!

Did you know you could get stung by a caterpillar? Poor Emily found out the hard way :(

The girls had a lot of fun at our neighborhood fall festival

Some of our own pictures from Charlotte's birth:

^last kisses for baby while she was still inside

^coming home outfit

Halloween festivities:

-haunted house decorating

-trunk or treat... the girls went as trolls and Charlie was a little troll doll (although, she did not attend the trunk or treat because she was only 2 days old).

-Halloween day consisted of superhero jammies, spooky pancakes, decorating pumpkins, and trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. The girls dressed as superheroes this time since it was raining and they didn't want to ruin their troll hair.

Settling in with a new baby

^I asked the girls to start reading scriptures while I put the baby down... caught this on the monitor

Thanksgiving:

^Emily came up with this idea and implemented it all on her own!

^overwhelmed by the amount of food choices

^my little turkeys ;)

Charlie's first day of church

Addie has been refusing to take naps, even though she really still needs them

Addie asked for a troll party at the park this year. Of course it ended up being the first super cold day of the season, but we still had a lot of fun!

^Emily's creations with the "make a troll" kit

Snow Day!

Addie's birthday day

Christmas fun:

-sugar cookies

-Emily performed in a little nutcracker show with her church ballet friends

-Dinner by the tree at market street. We didn't tell the girls about the lights "dancing" to music, so they were so surprised and excited when it happened!

-Santa pictures were a flop this year. The girls were so excited until we got there, and then they froze! They wouldn't even go near him without me and Grant. This family one is the best we got. At least Charlie was happy ;)

-The girls loved participating in the "light the world" initiative this year. Everyday we found some way to serve those around us or show gratitude to our Savior and then we got to put a star on the tree (thanks to Grant's sister, Amanda, for the idea!).

-Christmas Sunday

-Christmas Eve caroling party

^thanks to Grant's brother and his family for the matching pjs!

-Christmas Day

And FINALLY, we have New Year's Eve! We celebrated with fondue and fireworks with family and friends!

^Addie and Hudson watched the fireworks from inside

^Emily's face!

^all of my siblings together :)
