Great Wolf Lodge

This past week, my whole immediate family was able to get together for a trip to the great wolf lodge in Dallas. We had an awesome time!
The hotel has a really fun indoor waterpark! Emily loved it! It took a while for her to work up the courage to go on the kid slides, but once she did, she didn't want to stop riding them! She made everyone ride them with her over and over again! It was so fun watching her!

we stopped at in-n-out on the way up!

waiting in the lobby- so excited to get the vacation started!

The hotel also has a really fun ropes course that most of us tried out. There was a even a little mini one that Emily got to play on until we were told that she was supposed to pay and get harnessed for that one too :( She was pretty bummed when she had to get off.

 love that stance!

even Addie got to try it out ;)

On the last day, Emily and I got mommy and me pedicures with my sister and her daughter. We loved it! I was a little worried that she wouldn't sit still the whole time or that she would be too shy, but she was awesome! She got to wear a pink robe and tiara and pick out her own colors. Then we got our pedicures, complete with scrub, lotion, nail shaping, and warm towels. And then at the end she got a sash, lip gloss, and scented hairspray. She ate it up the whole time! It was probably my favorite part of the whole trip!

who taught her the duck face?!

she wanted daddy to have a turn with the tiara :)

we got free ice cream for getting pedicures!

There were a lot of other fun things that we were able to do at the hotel as well. Emily got wolf ears that she wore for the entire trip. They also have a little quest game where you get a wand and do a scavenger hunt all around the hotel. Emily didn't really get into the clues, but she loved taking her wand around and activating all of the hidden objects. In the evenings, they do a little story time thing for all the kids. And Emily also had her first arcade experience! We really had a great time!

story time

we celebrated mother's day while we were there and I did not get one good picture of me and my girls

loving the quest!

we went to rainforest cafe one night and Emily loved the fish!

San Antonio

Over the weekend, we went on a super fun, super fast trip to San Antonio. Grant's finally done with his busy season and quarters so we're now able to start using some of his vacation time and paternity leave that he's built up :) He took Friday off and we headed out first thing that morning!
The girls were both dressed in their crab outfits for Sea World, but I decided we should take pictures before heading out, just in case we should have an emergency on the way. That was a good call on my part because when we made our stop at buc-ees, Addie had had a huge blowout! That was fun! Thankfully, I came prepared and had another sea themed onesie on hand ;)

Sea World was so much fun! We went on the perfect day! It wasn't too crowded because everyone's still in school and the weather was beautiful! I wasn't sure if Emily would be able to sit through all of the shows, but she LOVED them! I wish I had taken a picture of her watching because she was completely entranced. Grant and I really enjoyed them, too. It's amazing what these creatures can do! We saw 3 shows: one with dolphins, beluga whales, and acrobats; one with killer whales (including an adorable baby whale); and one with dogs, cats, birds, pigs, etc. They were all phenomenal! I think we need to make it an annual tradition :)

Emily tried her first dippin' dots

she was so tired! she fell asleep right after we got in the car with her souvenir dolphin :)

Emily thought it was so cool sleeping at a hotel! Grant taught her the joys of jumping on hotel beds :) Friday night we walked around the riverwalk and had mexican for dinner. Then Saturday morning we went back to the riverwalk for a boat tour. We then walked to the alamo and spent a little bit of time there. And then we headed home! It was a whirlwind of a trip, but I'm so glad we did it! We had a blast!

baby ducks on the river :)

Addie had another blowout while we were on the boat (hence the blanket protecting my clothes)

Addie was a trooper the whole trip! she did great (minus the two wardrobe changes)
