6 months

Happy half birthday Addie girl!!

-Addie's growing up right before our eyes! She can now roll over both ways, sit more confidently, and has discovered her feet. She's much more interested in toys and books and always wants to be a part of everything that's going on.

she loves this toy! It's like she's on a mission to unstack every single ring :)

-She's starting to thin out a little bit (just like Emily did at this age), but she's definitely still a yummy, squishy girl! She's now in the 75th percentile for weight and 85th for height.

-We started solid foods this month. She's taken to it really well and has liked pretty much all of the foods she's tried so far.

-She's FINALLY starting to sleep a little better at night. For the first half of the month it was just as bad as it's always been (up 3 times a night!), but then one day it suddenly got better. I can't take any credit because I did nothing differently, even though I probably should've been. I attribute her better sleep to two things... 1. the fact that she can roll over and get more comfortable. She loves sleeping on her side or tummy.... and 2. the fact that she can almost always put her pacifier back in by herself now. She's discovered her paci clip and knows that if she finds that she can get to the paci. Now she's usually just up once a night, around 3 or 4 and then she'll stay asleep until 7 or 8. It's so much better! We'll occasionally have nights where she's also up around 11, but usually she'll make it until the middle of the night :)

-She's still as happy as can be and gets along with everybody. No stranger danger for this girl! Hopefully it stays that way ;) While her big, wide smile is one of my favorite things in the world, she's also started doing this close-mouthed smirk that I just can't get enough of! We love her so much!

(she's holding the D for a father's day project... so photogenic!)

outtakes:

emily doesn't phase her... she's still putting on the charm ;)

trip to Ohio

Last week we went on an AWESOME trip to visit some of Grant's family in Ohio. We had so much fun! It was a great chance for the girls to have some bonding time with their cousins, aunts, uncles, and Grandma Barb. It was also the first time that any of the Zinns met Addie and it was our first chance to meet Baby Beckett. We're so grateful we had the chance to visit!

-bonding with Grandma Barb:

waiting for Barb to arrive (Emily's telling them to use their "binoculars")

she came bearing gifts!

first time meeting Addie

-we spent a lot of time playing at parks (including the one in the Goates' backyard)!

Addie's face!

that static!

collecting rocks

-the girls did some intense dress-up!

-we went strawberry picking and the girls made a strawberry pie with grandma

-The kiddos had a blast playing with Uncle Eric and Aunt Irene!

she had a tea party with Eric and wouldn't let anyone else join :)

-Emily discovered a love for trampolines

-And we just soaked up every minute together! It was so great for Emily to have the chance to get to know her cousins better! We miss you guys already!

I can't wait to watch these two grow up together! They're exactly one month apart, so we know they'll be great friends :)

and these two are only 7 months apart ;)

Grant and Ben took the girls to home depot, where they made their own trucks!

playing games after the kids went to bed

we tried Tom and Chee and it was delicious!

the grilled cheese donut sounded gross, but it was so good!!

we love Aunt Marnie!

Thanks so much for hosting us Amanda and Ben. We had an amazing time! Can't wait for the next Zinn family get together :)
